Established in 1920 by Calvin and Louise Cottar, this facility is situated in the beautiful Masai Mara and Serengeti plains. The camp boarders the Masai Mara game reserve and provides an expansive view of plains with wild game. Visitors are treated to the services offered by the Masai Mara conservancy, great walks in the wild and memorable interaction with the Maasai community.

The camp boasts of such facilities as tented dining and resting areas, a swimming pool, a spa and fire places within the living room spaces. The tents are also located in private areas, making them ideal for honeymooners, individual campers or even families with children.

Cottar’s 1920’s safari camp provides exclusive accommodation in the recently launched ‘cottar’s private homestead’. The homestead shares a prime spot with the Masai Mara national reserve and is within sight of the Serengeti game reserve in Tanzania. Private luxury within and without the house is made possible by the abundance of wildlife, professional and dedicated staff and tour guides.

The house sits on a 10,000 square feet of land, providing an extra large living room, an outdoor viewing deck, an equally massive dining room and 5 en-suite bedrooms. It is served by a team of 8 dedicated staff comprising of 2 security guards, a waiter, a housekeeper, a kitchen helper, a chef, a wild life spotter and a guide. The house stands in direct view of the Savanna plains, providing an uninhibited view of the wildebeest migration.  It is rented out on an exclusive basis.
